My Post-Hike Reset Routine
(Skincare, Hydration & Simple Recovery)
After a long hike, I’m usually tired, a little dehydrated, and definitely ready to reset.
This is the simple routine I come back to — nothing complicated, just a few things that help me feel better, rehydrate, and wind down after being out all day.
It’s not about doing everything — just doing a few things that actually make a difference.

Quick Reset Routine (What I Actually Do)
Especially after long days outside, this is what we both come back to.
- Rehydrate (water + electrolytes)
- Cool down and rinse off
- Under-eye patches or skincare reset
- Light snack or something easy
- Change into something comfortable
Hydration is a big part of recovery too — I break down the electrolytes I actually use depending on the day here ->.

My Post-Hike Reset Routine
Hydrate First
Before anything else, I focus on hydration — this is where I notice the biggest difference in how I feel after a long day.
After being outside, especially in dry air or sun, I can feel the difference immediately.
I always start with water — and making sure I actually drink enough.
Cleanse + Reset
After being outside, my skin usually feels:
- dry
- exposed
- a little tired
So I keep this step simple — just a gentle cleanse and a moment to reset.

Under-Eye Reset
This is where I bring in eye patches.
Depending on how I feel:
- if I’m puffy → I use a depuffing patch
- if I’m just tired → I use something hydrating

Slow Down
This matters more than you think.
This part isn’t a product — it’s a shift.
After being active, I don’t rush into the next thing.
Sometimes it’s:
- sitting outside
- having something cold to drink
- or just taking a few minutes to relax
I keep this really simple — these are just the things I’ve found actually help after being out all day.

Good Food, Simple Reset
After a hike or long day outside, I usually want something simple and satisfying…
This is where the day shifts from activity → recovery.
Sometimes that looks like:
- something fresh
- a snack
- or even a cocktail
Final Thoughts
The reset doesn’t have to be complicated.
For me, it’s just:
- hydrate
- reset my skin
- take a moment
This routine isn’t complicated, but it’s what helps me reset and feel like myself again after a long day outside.
Start with one or two things you’ll actually do consistently — that’s what makes the biggest difference.
